1.      ION demonstrated the viability of their new FireFly wireless recording system and it’s supporting infrastructure
2.      Our oil company partners have indicated that the seismic data collected by the FireFly system during these field tests was superior to legacy data in the same area
3.      SES, ION and our other partners were able to operate the system in difficult conditions related to inclement weather and challenging operational environments
4.      This testing activity and input from the test operators helped identify technical and operational issues with the first prototype system that will now be used in development of the next version of the FireFly product.
5.      An effort is now underway at ION to update the software, add features, enhance the robustness of the ground electronics and repair system components that were compromised or damaged during the test operations. The majority of the equipment will be back in SES’s rental pool by the 1st of December 2008.

The success of these first FireFly field deployments was made possible through the cooperation of SES, ION and the
committed efforts of BP, and Apache. All parties remain very committed and very excited about the potential for this system
in 2008 and beyond. Numerous sources are indicating that demand for 20,000 and 30,000+ station jobs is clearly on the rise channels and FireFly will be uniquely positioned to serve this market in the near future.
